Joyce Wairimu

Program Assistant
Joyce provides administrative support to two fellowship programs within the Research Capacity Strengthening Division: the African Doctoral Dissertation Research Fellowship (ADDRF) and the Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA). The two programs award PhD fellowships to students in sub-Saharan African universities in fields of health systems and population research. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree in French and Secretarial Studies from Kenyatta University, and a Diploma in Organizing in a Globalised Economy from the ILO Training Centre in Turin, Italy. Joyce joined APHRC in September 2011 prior to which she worked as Personal Assistant to the Africa Regional Secretary of the International Transport Workers Federation in Nairobi. She has a passion to learn from others and work with people in various fields of expertise and culture.
